The so-called 'bone inlay' collection is made using an old decorative technique. This involves gluing small pieces of hand-carved or sawn bone into (geometric) shapes on a base. The whole is then coated with a black resin. After drying, it is polished evenly down to the bone, creating these beautiful motifs. As this is a completely manual process and therefore each product is unique, the drawings of the inlay may differ from the product photo.
The bones processed come from animals that died a natural death. It is carefully cleaned and polished by hand. Bone is logically a natural product and may have slight colour variations compared to the photo.
Simply wipe the furniture with a dry, clean (preferably cotton) cloth. Cleaning agents contain harmful bleaching ingredients and chemicals that can damage the leg inlay; their use is strongly discouraged.
Both very high and very low temperatures can cause deformations in furniture. This can cause the wood, resin or bone to expand or shrink, resulting in damage. Over time, bone tends to take on a yellowish hue. To prevent this, it is important to let the furniture come into contact with sunlight. Extreme heat from sunlight, on the other hand, can cause the damage mentioned above.
